Frequently Asked Questions
Who are one-on-one lessons suitable for?
Our lessons are suited for all students looking to learn an instrument. One-on-one lessons are one of the most effective forms of personalised music education, and classes are designed for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced musicians.
What instruments are available?
We offer a range of instruments including, but not limited to: piano, viola, violin, clarinet, flute, drums, saxophone, voice, and more. Availability varies depending on teacher schedules, so we recommend enrolling early to secure your preferred time.
How long is a term of lessons?
Our terms follow the NSW Government school term calendar. Term 1 2026 runs from Monday 2nd February until Thursday 2nd April 2026.
What happens in the Personal Roadmap session?
A Personal Roadmap is a way to give structure to long term goals. The session will be a casual 30 minute conversation, where we will get a sense of where you’re at, and where you’d like to be. Then together, we will build a plan to help you achieve those goals.
To make the most of your session, you can think about these questions beforehand:
What is the single biggest thing you’d like to achieve with music?
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
What has been the most enjoyable thing so far?
If you could wake up tomorrow with one extra musical skill, what would it be, and why?
When will the Personal Roadmap session be held?
The Roadmap Session will be held at a mutually agreed upon time in early Term 1, pending student and Monica’s schedule
Is the Personal Roadmap session suitable for children, teens, and adults?
Yes. The Roadmap Session is adapted to the age and stage of each student.
For younger students, parents are encouraged to attend.
For teens and adults, the session focuses on motivation, direction, and long-term growth.
How are lesson times allocated?
Lesson times are allocated based on student and teacher availability. We will try our best to offer classes at times that suit your schedule. Early enrolment gives you the best chance of securing your preferred day and time.
How do I enrol and pay?
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
More than 48 hours notice
For any cancellation (e.g. change of plans), you are eligible for a full refund, or credit for a future enrolment.
On the day (due to illness)
If your child is sick on the day of the program, the paid amount will be credited to your account for use in a future enrolment. A medical certificate may be required.
No notice (“No show”)
Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds or credits for absences without prior notice.
I’m not sure if one-on-one lessons are right for me (or my child). Can I talk to someone first?
