Learning composition is a great way for musicians to flex their creativity, whilst gaining further insight into the music they already perform.
We offer a four-part composition course; upon completion students will have a deeper understanding of the music they play, and be able to compose music in different genres and styles with confidence.
We are currently enrolling for Composition 1, open to those aged 12+.
Students will cover topics such as primary chord functions, rhythm, time signatures, accompaniment, and melody to create a series of compositions they will showcase at the end of the term.
There is no prerequisite theory knowledge for Composition 1, however it is suggested that students should have learned an instrument for at least 3 years before taking this course. Students will need to bring their own laptop for this class.
